Mad for The Tea Room! The Tea Room, Queen Victoria Building hosted a Mad Hatter Tea party to celebrate the success of being announced as one of the Top 5 venues in Australia to host a gala dinner.

Over 40 corporate clients and Professional Conference Organisers were invited to this exclusive evening including key event planners and producers from Deloitte, Thomson Reuters and venue finders from The Venue Concierge.

Guests were greeted by a fun and eccentric ‘Mad Hatter’ entertainer who posed for photos underneath the trailing asparagus fern and balloon vine arch that draped the entrance.

‘Drink me’ Alice’s Mojitos and Absolem’s Creaming Soda tea cocktails were in high demand as guests gathered under the magnificent Baccarat crystal chandeliers in this stunning ball room.

A classical Harpist created a harmonious ambiance whilst Johnny Depp’s version of Alison and Wonderland played on the screens against red washed walls.

Guests were invited to the long table set in the middle of the room to enjoy interactive activities with The Tea Room’s Pastry Team. Head pastry chef, Cristy Vella, headed up a Macaroon Masterclass where guests learnt how to make shells before given the opportunity to pipe the cream on some of the Tea Room’s favourite flavours – strawberry shortcake, snickers and spiced apple.

The table was dressed Cherry Brandy Columbian roses and Peach Tiffany Columbian roses bundled on custom made gold gilded floral stands to ensure maximum use of the table for pastry-making fun. Double sided timber menus/Queen of Hearts playing cards were placed at each setting to add a bespoke element to the table.

GPG Founder/CEO Manny Spinola said – “To be announced as one of the best venues in Australia to host a gala dinner is such an honour to the team and I! This event really gave us the opportunity to celebrate our success with our valued clients and have a bit of fun!”

Needless to say, the event was a fabulous success and feedback was outstanding! Damien Parsons, BDM / Sponsorship and Exhibition Manager for Concept Event Management said – “We really enjoyed the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ conceptualised event!! The ‘Mad Hatter’ was jovial as well as the piping of the macaroons activity. We can’t wait to work with The Tea Room in November. Thank you for what was a great evening of fun and entertainment!”

We couldn’t agree more Damien!

Guests were encouraged to share their photos of the event on the live Instagram feed #madforthetearoom which really captured the fun of the evening. A dedicated photo album can be found on The Tea Room’s Facebook page.
